Divorce Consultation and Support

You need someone who can help you manage the relational fall-out of the divorce process, someone to help your family through this transition and onto a new path.

I specialize in creating short-term, solution based plans that blend research with practical action, giving you clear next steps.

I reset relational dynamics with you so that your children can step out of co-parenting conflict and enjoy their childhoods.

I help you develop co-parenting strategies and patterns that enhance positivity and make your co-parenting easier. Every conversation doesn't have to be a battle.

Book an appointment with me, and we can chart a path forward where you are in control, ready to have the hard conversations standing between you and the rest of your life.

Whether individually or with your partner, short-term counseling sessions help you examine the situations that have you considering divorce.

There is never any pressure either to move forward with divorce or to remain in your marriage, just the space to think deeply with a trained counselor about the factors involved in your feelings and options.

Even a single session can help build understanding, provide support, and move you to greater clarity on what comes next.

Some divorcing couples want to reduce their costs and keep control by filing for divorce without lawyers.

I offer sessions to support these couples in creating parenting plans and offering mediation for the points of conflict that they want help managing.

You will not be locked in to any set number of sessions or any retainer fee as you work through the choices that can sometimes feel overwhelming to make without guardrails.

Support from trained, certified, and confidential professionals gives you the freedom to manage your divorce without the publicity of court.

For divorcing couples who want enhanced support moving through divorce I partner with a team of lawyers and financial planners in a process called Collaborative Divorce. We can look out for the mental health and financial wellbeing of your family while legally terminating your marriage without you ever going to court.

I provide comprehensive analysis of your financial and familial situation and assist you in articulating your most important current and future priorities. Then, I work as a team of professionals to make sure these needs are held paramount. I can help make a difficult transition more manageable, streamlined, and  growth-oriented.

This option is not a good fit for all couples, and we can help you decide if this is the path forward for you and help you find alternatives if it is not.

Divorcing or post-divorced co-parents can benefit from brief, behaviorally based sessions focused on aligning goals, managing conflict, and building patterns that work for the long term success of parenting children.

Assistance in managing conflict with a co-parent helps your children and it helps you. None of you should have to experience the negative physical and mental health consequences of long term, unmanaged conflict.

I can help you develop a new parenting plan, or can help you manage within a previously-established parenting plan, depending on your needs. I can work with individuals, co-parents, and families in these sessions. I can also assist by providing reunification therapy.

My Approach

I started CG Consultants as a result of my career-long training in human needs, motivations, and patterns of interaction. I hold a M.A. and Ph.D. in relational communication, as well as a M.A. and a clinical license (LCPC) in mental health counseling.

My research, experience, and engagement in the areas of communication and mental health allow me to help improve relational and individual satisfaction for people in states of dissatisfaction or transition, particularly as they consider shifts to their relationships through the divorce process.

I work with individuals, pairs, and families to identify their most important goals as they consider a transition through divorce. Through work we can do together and referrals to complementary resources I help them take concrete steps in meeting those goals.

Divorce is not a failure - it is a change that many people move through and it is a transition that deserves support and care. I believe that our communication with one another and our understanding of our human nature and motivations are crucial to forward movement and productive change.
